President: Azita Alipour


Azita Alipour, PharmD, BCPP, BCGP is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at Marshall B. Ketchum University College of Pharmacy. Dr. Alipour is a board-certified psychiatric and geriatric pharmacist. Her academic and professional degrees consist of a BS in Psychology and Doctor of Pharmacy. Dr. Alipour completed a post-graduate year one (PGY1) pharmacy residency at the Boise VA Medical Center and a post-graduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency in psychiatric pharmacy at University of Maryland School of Pharmacy.

Dr. Alipour’s commitment to excellence in patient care is exemplified throughout her nearly decade of clinical pharmacy experience. She started the first pharmacist run psychiatric clinic at the Boise VA. As the Psychiatric Clinical Pharmacist for Kaiser of the Mid-Atlantic States, she received a service excellence award, three customer service awards and a pharmacy MVP award. Prior to joining MBKU, Dr. Alipour was Psychiatric Pharmacy faculty at the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey.

Dr. Alipour has served in various leadership positions at the national level. She served on the mental health workgroup for Pharmacy Quality Alliance (PQA). For the College of Psychiatric and Neurologic Pharmacists (CPNP) she was a co-leader for the Geriatric Psychopharmacotherapy Community and Chair of the Hub and Perspectives Newsletter Subcommittee. Currently she is Vice Chair of the Student Committee and Co-leader of the Substance Use Disorder Strategies (SUDS) Community for CPNP.


Immediate Past-President: Albert Bach


Albert Bach earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from the California State University, Fullerton followed by a Doctorate of Pharmacy from Western University of Health Sciences, Pomona, CA. He completed his postgraduate residency training in Community Pharmacy Practice at the University of Southern California. His residency training included providing clinical pharmacy services within a community pharmacy-based physician clinic and in an independent community pharmacy. Albert is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at Chapman University, School of Pharmacy (CUSP). He teaches in the area of self-care, community pharmacy, and compounding. His current practice site is at a community pharmacy in Newport Beach. Upon completion of his residency and prior to joining CUSP, Albert practiced as a clinical pharmacist at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center (RR-UCLA). At RR-UCLA, he was responsible for the medication reconciliation process in order to maintain and ensure the accurate communication of patient medication information and prevent medication errors during the patient’s transition of care.


President-Elect: Dara Nguyen


Dara Nguyen is currently the President-Elect for Orange County Pharmacists’ Association. She has served in various capacities such as student liaison, member of the mentorship committee, chapter of excellence coordinator, and board member. She completed a PGY1 in community practice with WesternU/Ralph’s Pharmacy and a PGY2 in medication use safety and policy with Kaiser Permanente. Currently, she works as a home infusion pharmacist with Kaiser Permanente. 


Treasurer: Sun (Coco) Yang


Dr. Sun Yang is a Tenured Association Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at Chapman University School of Pharmacy. She completed an oncology translational research fellowship at the University of California Irvine and PGY1 and PGY2 residencies in Pediatric Pharmacy at CHOC Children’s Hospital of Orange County. She holds certifications as a Board-Certified Pediatric Pharmacy Specialist and a CA board of pharmacy-certified Advanced Practice Pharmacist. Her professional and research interests are focused on various aspects of pediatric oncology, medication safety, oncology pharmacology, and anti-cancer drug development.


Recording Secretary: Lisa Kipper


Dr. Lisa Kipper attained her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of the Pacific. She began her career as a pharmacist with Target Corporation. Then made the transition to hospital pharmacy, assuming a pivotal role at Saddleback Medical Center. During this phase, she conceived and executed a successful Meds-to-Beds Program and is currently certified as a Transition of Care Pharmacist. Her focus encompassed an array of responsibilities including disease management, active physician engagement, comprehensive patient education, compliance adherence, quality assurance, and the implementation of process enhancement initiatives. 

Building upon this foundation, Dr. Kipper extended her pharmacy career into the realm of Ambulatory Care Pharmacy within a local clinic setting focusing on patient outcomes and compliance.

Presently, Dr. Kipper is the Director of Experiential Education at Marshall B. Ketchum University. She provides oversight to both Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences (IPPE) and Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences (APPE), spearheading preceptor development and training certifications, quality assurance, student success, and site development/recruitment. In addition, Dr. Kipper is an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice at MBKU, coordinating the Self-Care Series.


Secretary: Tony Park


After receiving his Pharm.D. degree from the University of the Pacific in 1996, Tony Park started his career as a Walgreens P.I.C. and Store Manager. Then from 1998 until 2008, he created and operated start-up pharmacy-related businesses: a sterile compounding pharmacy, a hispanic community pharmacy, a mail order pharmacy, a hemophilia homecare company, and a specialty drug wholesaler. He then sold everything to attend law school, earning his J.D. degree in 2010 from the Western Michigan University – Thomas M. Cooley Law School. He is now principal attorney of his independent law firm: “CPL – California Pharmacy Lawyers.” He counsels and represents in all aspects of pharmacy practice and business. He also serves as General Counsel for both the California Pharmacists Association and the California Korean-American Pharmacists Association, and teaches Pharmacy Law & Ethics at both the Western University of Health Sciences, and the University of the Pacific. Dr. Park is a Registered Pharmacist and a member of the State Bar, of California.
